Cervical Incompetence ???

My doctor recently told me I cervical incompetence after hearing about my last miscarriage in 2013. He's recommending me to a specialist at week 11 to get a stitch?? Everything I'm reading is telling me I will be put on bed rest. Im worried if that happens I won't have a job. My job doesn't have maternity leave or short term disability. Anyone else gone through this? I have no family here, just my husbands but they live an hour and a half away.
