Rat/mouse problem

We have lived in a rental for two years now and never had a rodent problem until now as its getting colder outside. This morning we caught rats when we only expected to catch house mice. We have a two month old baby. Should we just move out of the house? We have pest control helping us out but this house is old so I'm worried that we will have this problem again by the time she is crawling/walking.
