Antibiotics my whole pregnancy?

My new OB wants me to take macrobid once a day my entire pregnancy. This is my 4th baby. I have had UTI's and VB with every pregnancy. With my last two I had silent UTI'S. I'm currently being treated for a UTI I didn't know I had. She said she wants to treat it proactively to avoid problems and future UTI'S. Has anyone ever had to take antibiotics there whole pregnancy?

It's fine. Long term, daily antibiotics are low dose. They will give you something pregnancy safe and you'll be just fine!

Scary, how did they catch it? I have had two uti in my life and both I had no symptoms. One was during pregnancy and I had cloudy urine so they sent it for tests and put me on antibiotics. I am parinoid I will get another uti and not know it, not sure what to do about it?

Your dr knows what they are doing, but if you are worried you can always get a second opinion. Sound proactive to me, your dr just wants to keep you and baby safe and with your history it's probably the best way to do it! I understand your concern sounds like over use of antibiotics, but best to be over cautious during pregnancy!

I'm 36 weeks and I have to take them til baby is born bc I got a really bad uti that was going in to a kidney infection and I had no idea, as long as Dr says it's okay I would think it's fine.
