Am I crazy to think my 8 year old still believes in Santa

We do the elf on the shelf and she thinks this thing is her best friend. All my co workers say she is just pretending. I think she genuinely believes. She is in catholic school and they are allowed to celebrate unlike public schools. I'm heartbroken thinking about having to have the talk with her (not yet)!
