Perming my hair?

I really like the way I look with curly hair. When I first hit puberty I had little ringlets in my hair (after years of chemotherapy medication my hair was super thin and pin straight) I got off about 6 months before I started puberty and my hair was so cute. Well over these past 7 years my hair has gradually straightened back out. My hair is also a bit longer now at the middle of my back and still somewhat thin I shed aloooot. I haven't colored jn over a year and I've never bleached my hair would it turn out alright or should I not even risk it?
