Should I see a Doctor?

To start out, I've had an IUD for almost 2 years. My period has been longer than normal, I usually last up to 5 days max, and I'm on day 8. I had a terrible UTI yesterday that came out of no where, so I'm getting a litte worried that it may be connected in some way. Any ideas? I'm sexually active.

It's possible. I found on my period I used to get a UTI sometimes. See your doctor for some antibiotics to treat the infection, and make sure you are changing your pad/tampon regularly (every 3-4 hours as needed, never leaving it longer than 8 hours). This should help reduce or stop any bacteria growth. Also make sure you are wiping front to back, rather than back to front. And drink plenty of water!

IUDs do not cause UTIs though. And antibiotics will not effect the IUD.
