nausea from GERD?

I've had persistent nausea and a lump in throats feeling and tingling in my stomach and lately a dry throat where when I swallow I feel more nauseous. Could this be GERD? My doctor suspected acid reflux and prescribed omeprazole (anyone take that and get side effects)? Idk if I should take it Bc I also have bad anxiety so what could it be

My SO takes it and hasn't had any side effects whatsoever! He has a hiatal hernia which causes horrible heartburn and gerd and it's the only medicine that helps. I on the other hand have nausea every freaking day, randomly gagging and sometimes having to run to the toilet. I've had blood tests done and all were normal, I also have anxiety and my doctor thinks these 2 things are related. Try the medicine, it may help! Just try not to think of what side effects could happen, sometimes we can worry ourselves into having them! Good luck, I hope it helps!!

Omeprazole is the only medication that works for me. I've had an endoscopy done too to rule out something more serious. So I just have chronic gerd. I don't have any side effects from taking it. It works really well for me

Yes I got bad side effects with omeziprole...hives..aching joints...terrible terrible reaction. I stopped taking it immediately...cut out all carbonated beverages and just ate yogurt...all my symptoms of ghrd stopped. Be careful and watch for side effects if you take those pills!!
