annoying but cute?

There is this guy in my class. We have known eachother for about five years now. 
We have been friends for teo years. Half a year ago, we kissed at a festival. At a party two weeks after that again. After that nothing "happened" we hung out after school a couple of times. 
But heres my problem: he is this class clown type of guy. Not what I'm usually attracted to. In school he annoys me a lot. But when we hang out he is nice and cute. He likes me, he told me that. But I don't think that I like to be together with him.

Omg from experience id say DONT DATE THIS GUY. Last year I met a boy in one of my classes who was annoying as hell, like such a class clown and so loud and obnoxious, he always hinted that he had a think for me so one day I was like "eh what the hell" and we hooked up. He was so, so sweet. Just kind and funny and made me happy. So we decided to date! But every time we were we're other people he suddenly turned back into this obnoxious asshole. I KNEW he was a good guy, but his arrogance and dick personality really shone through when we were with other people. I ended up breaking up with him because he was always putting up an act for other people. Anyway, maybe this kid is different! That's just my experience.
