something wrong....

I have been sick for a couple of months on and off and the other day I looked into my throats and I noticed what looked like a canker sore in the back of my throats but totally painless. I touched it with a cotton swab and i was able to remove it. I now have more and some very small ones. They don't hurt but they do look like pictures I have seen online of internal cold sores. Well the bigger ones did. I am just wondering if cold sores can be painless and if they can be scraped off painlessly? I will be seeing a doctor but in the meantime I would like some ideas or thoughts
