mucus plug...labor soon?!

I am 40+4 with my first child and I lost my mucus plug early this morning. I've had sporadic cramping and discharge since. My dr is aware and told me to wait, I'm just curious to see how quickly some other ladies went into labor after losing their plug this late in pregnancy. I have an induction scheduled on Monday that I'd like to avoid!

With my 1st I lost the plug a day before labor. I was 40 weeks exactly delivered 40+1

Losing your plug doesn't necessarily indicate labor. It's like saying "you're 1cm dilated" ...I mean that's good but you could sit at a one for weeks. Same with the plug. It's an estimated 1-4 Weeks you'll go into labor after losing your plug. And that's something your body could re-generate too. 
It's a good sign and feels good to see a positive sign, but unless you're contracting or your water breaks, just be proactive yourself!

I'm due tomorrow and just lost my plug a little while ago! Hoping that's a good sign that things are progressing because I really don't want to be induced

Both above comments true, but you're 40+4, body is ready, baby is ready & there's every chance you'll be giving birth before it comes to induction!! Stay positive & keep us updated!! Xxx

Plug doesn't mean anything about labor unfortunatly. Ive been losing pieces of mine for a while now
