my amazing birth story!

 I've been on bed rest since I was 34 weeks. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days & was already dilated 6 cm on November 4! They gave me magnesium sulfate to stop him. After they released me I went home on strict bed & pelvic rest so for 3 weeks I've been having bad contractions off and on. At My last check up on Tuesday I was still dilated 6 cm. I felt kind of defeated and upset and I admit I cried. I was so frustrated and uncomfortable and in pain 24/7. I tried everything to get this labor going again. Ate pineapple, started walking, did squats... I even found my big workout ball couple days ago and I continually bounced up and down and did vigorous circles to try and get him to come, but still nothing. So the day of Thanksgiving I told myself I was giving up. Even told my mom I was done with all of the extra attempts to start active labor. I ate at 4 pm on thanksgiving and something didn't feel right. I hardly had an appetite & when I forced myself to eat I felt so nauseous afterwards. Me and my daughter went home around 9 pm & went straight  to bed. I was exhausted. I woke up out my sleep at 11:25 with horrible contractions. I switched positions and nothing helped. I got up to pee & immediately everything got so much worse. It was so much pressure and I felt like I needed to pee and poop so bad. My gut was telling me this was the real deal! I called the father of my child and he rushed over immediately. My hospital is 20 min away but luckily there was a closer one 10 min away from my house. We packed up our daughter and left asap! I tried to refrain from pushing in the car but it was so hard. When we got to the hospital he had to carry me in. I immediately told the staff that my baby boy was about to come!!! My water hadn't broken yet but as soon as they checked me they saw I was ready. When I got moved to a room only about 10 min had passed. They told me to stop pushing & I told them no that wasn't going to happen, I could feel him ready to come out! The urge to push was so strong at this point and once I started, my water immediately broke & I felt him about to come! I pushed about 4-5 times and my baby boy Malik came! I'm so glad I followed my instincts or else I would've delivered at home!! No pain meds or anything. Born 12:16 am November 25, 2016, 6.4 lbs & 18.5 inches. I couldn't be more happier!!!
