did I ruin my body?

postpartum mamas that had stretch marks, what do they look like after giving birth? This is my first baby and I have so many I'm so afraid that means I'll have loose skin after birth. I feel like my stomach is completely ruined :(

Ha! Gotta love it. U didn't "ruin ur body".. u made a human. Ur body will never be the same.  U can excerise and get fit but the marks will not go away and mostly ur hips will never shrink back to pre pregnancy sizes. It's what becoming a parent is. It's a sacrifice that most of us make without thinking twice. .without even thinking it as a "sacrifice "

I feel like I ruined my body as well.
At 4 months pp I am just 2-3 pounds away from my pre pregnancy weight but my body shape has completely changed. I had a C section and I hate the flab of skin over the scar. The strech marks are getting better but are definetly still there and often ache or itch. I am nursing at the moment but dread to think how saggy my breats are likely to become once the baby weans. I understand that it is 'worth it' but that does not mean we did not pay a heavy price for giving birth. I am tired of people invalidating the body image issues moms face post pregnancy by a sweeping 'but you gave birth and thats amazing'. Yes I did and yes that is amazing but no that does not mitigate the fact that my body is never going to be the same again and that does suck.

My skin on my tummy never went back to how it was before. This doesn't mean your body will be "ruined" but your body will change a lot postpartum. Marks do fade over time though. After i had my son I got great curves though, so don't worry, not all change is bad!

My loose skin didn't go away even after I got down to my pre-pregnancy weight. It is loose skin, weight loss has nothing to do with shrinking that.
