HPV/LEEP

After years of putting off my abnormal Pap smears I finally went to get a colonoscopy and found out I have HPV. I will be getting the LEEP surgery done next week. I've only told my husband about it. Should I be embarrassed to tell anyone else? I feel like my family should know but I feel like it's too embarrassing :(
