experience with antidepressants?

Has any had any good/bad experience with anti depressants? I just got prescribed then after year of dealing with depression with severe anxiety attacks, this year has been the worst so I decided to seek help instead of using self harm as a quick fix to how I was feeling. I was hoping to hear good experiences with it, but please tell me anything you think I should know. Please don't tell me how bad and addicting they are if you've never taken them, thanks guys❤️

So I've started taking antidepressants this summer, as I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression. It started off with prozac, and now I'm taking zoloft. They both make me so tired but I have noticed my mood is way more stable. Basically it's not uncommon for it to be a while before you find the one that works best for you. Every medication is going to have a different effect on everyone, but as my dad told me, just make sure you do your research. If you go to a psychiatrist tell them EVERYTHING! If you think it has an effect on your diagnosis, SAY IT! Also, if you can see a therapist please do, because medications work best in combination with counseling. I promise that it will help you! I've been on two different kinds of antidepressants. The first I was on worked really well for me, although it made me extremely drowsy. The second I was on worked for awhile, then started to have a reverse effect. It's really just a matter of trial and error, working with your doctor to find different prescriptions and doses that work best for you. ❤️

I take Zoloft and so far I've had very good experiences with it. After you miss a few days i can start to tell because I get headaches but when I remember to take it I'm fine and great. It has helped me so much with anxiety and depression.

Take Prozac, love it! It's great, it helps a lot but of course you can't just rely on the meds. My SO takes Zoloft and he likes it very much as well!

I take lexapro and it's a life saver! I have an anxiety disorder and i was struggling to live my life. It affected my parenting and how I acted towards my son and my family, and I could barely leave my house. So happy to say I'm not depressed anymore and my anxiety attacks have gone from several a day to hardly any, ever! I'm so much happier and a better girlfriend and mom. ❤️ it took me years before I went to the doctor, but I'm so glad I finally went.

If you get panic attacks don't take lexapro. I was prescribed lexapro after being hospitalized for suicial problems and it gave me a horrible panic attack the first time I took it and then I just had had headaches and this constant light headed feeling for a couple days but then I got used to it. Every time they upped my dose I had a panic attack and every time I forgot to take it, I had a panic attack the next time I took it. That's how it affected me anyway. Everyone is different so my sumptoms could be different from yours. I also take Wellbutrin, which is really helpful if you have no motivation and just want to do nothing with your life and be dead. Wellbutrin doesn't help with physics symptoms of depression like headaches and appetite problems though. That's why you might want to take an SSRI to go with it if you experience physical symptoms.

I was on Prozac for about 9 months. It worked for 8, but then last month, it got worse. I've been wanting to try a new one, but my gramma won't let me. It depends on you and the medication
