when to announce

I'm 8 weeks(3!days) and I'm having a hard time still keeping quite on social media. I'll be 11 weeks 3days on Christmas and I mentioned announcing then. I've had some issues with this pregnancy(it's my first) last week I had a threated miscarriage so I know I should wait. All our family and close friends already know. How do I get myself to be patient and wait to announce?!

You could do a cool New Years reveal, that would be a little later

Try to think about baby as a secret you wanna keep to yourself...that helped me in the beginning, and once I got further along it got easier and easier. 
All family and close friends knew right away, like as soon as we got the positive test, but we waited til about 18-20 weeks to announce to the whole world. I'm glad I waited, my last pregnancy I had a miscarriage so waiting til I felt movement made me feel better about baby's viability.

I am trying to wait too. I am keeping myself going by saying to myself i want to make sure my pregnancy is much more safe before i tell the world, and obviously at the end of the first trimester, this is the case x

I've MC twice no one knew beside immediate family. The third time I announced at 7w I'm now 28w.
Annouce when you want and feel it's ok.

I had a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks post heartbeat, had zero symptoms. I'm so glad I hadn't announced the pregnancy yet. I'm not trying scare you it's just that they tell you to wait for a reason, if you'd be ok announcing if heaven forbid there was a loss then I'd say go ahead and announce,  for me personally it would have been too difficult.  Maybe plan something fun to ring in the new year so you can look forward to it.
