Is a double stroller worth it? Debating with husband to decide if we need one.

Question

When our baby is born, we will have a 2 and a half year old. 
I think a double stroller would really help when we go to a store, day trip, to run errands, etc
My husband thinks they are a waste of money and that our 2 year old can walk when the baby is born. 
Any pros and cons would be helpful. We can't decide if spending $200-$300 is worth it or not.

I feel its worth it. I will have a newborn + my little brother (he will be 6 months old when I give birth). I'm getting a graco modes duo. I seen it in target, the seats switch around so easily and the ride itself is smooth. 😊

I tried a double stroller and it sucked, i just taught my son to walk, i also purchased a mommy hook so when we walk he holds onto the hook, truly depends on your kid tho, mine is always very well behaved in public so it wasnt an issue for me to transition him, hes just turned three and brother is 8 months. Im able to take him on the bus, he will walk around the grocery store and the bus back home (3-5 hours) depending on how many stops we make

Get a skateboard attachment for a single stroller & your older child can stand on it & ride while you're out shopping. Big money saver if this baby is your last.

Look for a used one! I am on number 4 baby 3 is almost 3. However we got a $300 used one off Craigslist I think for around a $100 looks brand new. And it really comes in handy. It was a gift for Christmas from my sister but we are so thankful for it!

Depends on your lifestyle/activities. I want to go on daily, long walks with the kids, take them to parks, gardens, maybe kids museums, etc. i def want a double stroller for those instances! We ordered the Baby Jogger City Select.

If you're alone with 2 kids, the stroller makes it easier. Also if your toddler is prone to tantrums e.g. not wanting to leave fun places (which can increase when baby arrives) it's very hard to carry the toddler while pushing the stroller. I got a stroller that converts from a single to double easily so I can adjust it according to the day, and there's also a stand and ride attachment.

Your 2yo CAN walk, but when he sees his sibling in a stroller he may not want to! And if you are by yourself, trying to watch over an infant and force a toddler to walk against their will may prove difficult. I have a 3week old and a son who will be 3 in January. He now wants back in a stroller.
