too early for test??

Hey! So I had unprotected sex 3 times November 27-28, and haven't again since. A couple days ago I experienced light cramping and very light bleeding which I assumed would be implantation bleeding. My period is due in 6 days so I got a first response pink dye test and took it today and it came out negative. It came with the digital one as well, should I wait until when my period is suppose to start to take that one? Did I take it too early to detect anything? I was really impatient and wanted to take it right away. There was no faint line or anything it was definitely a negative. Thanks in advanced! 😊
