provera/clomid

I've been on provera from July - October(4 cycles of med) got my period each time, I took ovulation test and always got a very faint positive once or twice a month, so I really can't tell if it was a true positive ovulation, well my last provera I got my period in October, after that never got a period the next month November , took test and al came back negative, I went to the doctor today and she gave me another script for provera (this time only a 7day dose & generic clomid? Any recommendations for clomid? She said to start it on my 3rd day of cycle... today I started back first day of provera. Has clomid worked for anyone els?
