Ladies! Help!

My husband and I split almost a year ago due to his incarceration. We have been trying to work things out but he tries to push everything to having sex all of the time. He is also 4 hours away and we only see each other an average of twice a month. I'm not sure if it was because of the separation and the distance. But it is frustrating when I would rather focus on our relationship and not just sex. Any suggestions?
