Assistance for 2 parent families

So, I know there us assistance for single moyher and even rarer, single fathers, but is here any assistance for two parent families? And if not, should there be. It seems like when you recieve assistance, you can't be with another person unless it's your child. Like with cash assistance, you have to name the father, so that he can pay child support.....like...he already IS supporting the child. Or with hiusing programs, you can live for free as long as you have a job....and are single. I mean there's this assumption that with two parents that are together, you should be doing better, but we're BOTH broke. What do you think, should there be more assistance for two parent families
