Should I call cps?

So there is a young woman that lives in the same trailer park as I. Whenever I see her out on the patio of theirs or walking her daughter in a stroller and the child acts up she calls her child stupid or starts screaming, "Cut your fucking shit." Their whole house is filthy and completely filled with dirty stuff everywhere in front of their house like hoarders. I've seen her smoke cigarettes right next to her daughter in the early mornings and I've also seen other people park in front of their house smoking marijuana and talking loudly in front of their house at 2 in the morning. Is this enough to call cps?

Also I'm afraid to call cps because even though my friend said anonymous when she called about someone they still found out it was her.

Call cps not cops. But just to let you know, as a social worker, weed is not a reason to move a child out of the home. Also, sadly verbal abuse isn't either because there is no physical evidence of it. I would still call cause you never know what is going on in the Home.

You ought to go ahead and call if you have questions.  Even if they can't find something to make a case right now, a history will be a good foundation when something case-worthy does get reported.

And anonymous does mean anonymous.  They are legally bound to keep to that.

Don't be scared about them finding out. That should be the least of your worries. You're doing the right thing for that little girl. They need to get in trouble. Call them, please. That's what that little girl would want you to do.

Sounds like my moms house. When I was a child someone called CPS and my siblings and I ended up in foster care, we all got adopted and grew up happy healthy lives. I wish I could find the woman who called and tell her thank you. Now my mom has another child (her redo child) and I don't see this kid having a good future like I did. Only difference is she's not on drugs anymore and she has a good job. Doesn't change how you parent

I have worked cps and we are not allowed to disclose who makes the allegations. You can call it in but from what you're describing it most likely would get screened out. I would call law enforcement when they are out there smoking marijuana and have them do a welfare check. From what they find they can call cps right then.

Yes, call cops and tell them it needs to be anonymous. They can get cps in there to do an investigation. She is obviously very unfit to be a mother.

From what I learned smoking weed isn't enough for the child to be removed from the home. But everything all together might classify at maltreatment and I wouldn't hesitate to call. Never know what happens behind closed doors.

Call! You don't have to give your name at all. Just tell the person you talk to that you'd like to remain anonymous. They can't disclose what they don't know.
