New to birth control?

So I have a new healthcare plan that will go into affect in January. My boyfriend and I have both talked about birth control and it's something I want and feel comfortable with. I have soooo many questions, but one major one I'd like to get an opinion on is whether or not he would be able to come inside me while I'm taking the birth control pill and not get pregnant?
