Steroids for ear infection

My baby had a double ear infection two weeks ago. She went on 10 days on antibiotics. When they were finished, the infection was gone but she still had fluid. 3 days later she got a cold and now she's prescribed another antibiotic and a steroid. I need to get her into an ENT next week, but now that it's the weekend, I need to decide if I should put her on the steroid. I've been researching and asking all medical professionals in my life...but any opinion could help! She's 9 months old...I would hate to put her on steroids but I also hate her being in so much pain 😔
