is it okay if a dog licks a baby's face ?

I had to have my MIL watch the baby and the baby is almost 7wks old. She has two bouvier terrier. And when I dropped him off and she didn't lock her dogs in the cage and one dog licked my baby's face. It freaked me out. Now I am so anxious and panicking thinking I should have never had my MIL watch the baby. I just don't really feel comfortable dogs around my baby. I told my husband to call her and tell her to keep the dogs away from the baby. She said yes but I am still nervous and kinda upset that she would even let dogs kiss him. It's his first time sleepover and I don't know what to do.

We can't stop our dog from licking our baby up. She did with our now 3 year old too.. He's fine! If anything they'll just get an immune system boost 😉🐶

We have a dog with the longest, sneakiest tongue. She slips it in our baby's mouth on occasion. It's fine.

One thing I would be cautious of is pink eye which is caused from feces they could be on the dogs tongue. That being said, my bulldog licks my baby. I try to keep her away from her face so sometimes just licks his feet but she's pretty quick. It helps them develop immunity to allergies being near animals at a young age.

99.9% of the time, fine. But like most things there's that small chance of causing issues. Roundworm and hookworm infection (parasites) can be spread to humans from dogs, and roundworm infection is the leading cause of blindness in children. If the dog is taking a monthly heartworm preventative, most of them also deworm for those two intestinal parasites monthly, so lick away. If not, probably not a good idea!

That's gross. I don't think it will have adverse effects unless the dog has worms (can get worms from eating poop outside) , or some kind of disease. I'd say if she doesn't vet them regularly than I wouldn't let them near my child... If she does, it's still gross that the dog probably cleaned his asshole then licked your baby's face. 
My son is never in reach of my dog because I've so many family dog attacks on infants come through the ER and it's always the same story of how they never saw it coming and how great the dog was with the baby before. I love my dog but I love my son more.

My dog kissed our son the day he got home! He gets a dog kiss probably every other day. I'm more comfortable with my dog kissing my son then him going out in public lol

My dogs give the baby a kiss every now and then. I don't even think about it... the dogs (and their fur) are everywhere in the house, so it's not like he's being exposed to to a new set of germs.
