Veterinarians, Vet Techs or Vet assistants here?

Question

Ok ladies, I got a question... me and my husband want to start trying but the problem is my job. I am a Vet assistant and I have to deal with ISO, anesthestics and some medications. With the meds I could wear gloves but I don't know what to do on surgery days... I don't want to leave my job- it's the best that has ever happened to me but I can't take 9 months (at least) off... any tips? My bosses of course are concerned about me getting pregnant. They don't want to lose me but can not take the risk of me losing a baby... what can I do???

I'm a vet and I didn't change anything I did during my pregnancy except stop taking X-rays. I did surgery until I was 8 months pregnant (and could no longer reach the table comfortably). I just made sure to handle all medications carefully and as far as surgery goes... I avoided doing dentals and just wore a mask. I had no issues. I also made sure I had help with any aggressive animals so I didn't get bit and did not deal with any possible rabies cases.

I think I would talk to a doctor about ways to stay safe while on the job. Like maybe go ahead and choose and OB and talk to him/her about it!
