heart problems?

So, I'm trying not to freak myself out about this issue. But about a week ago I started noticing my heart felt a little abnormal. By that I mean like I felt like it was beating weird. Me being me, I ignored it and went on with my day thinking it's just a fluke. Well this feeling won't go away. It literally feels like a burst of energy in my chest and then my heart will begin to flutter. I do get somewhat light headed every time this happens. I say anywhere from 5-6 times a day. I'm afraid to tell anyone because we found my uncle dead in his house last year after his heart stopped. Should I go to the hospital? I don't want my family to be concerned. Is this something that I should really pay attention to?
