My birth story - 17/03/2011

I was just 19 at the time when I had my first. On the Monday morning I had a sweep because I was over (41wks) and found out I was 4cms dilated. Later that Night I went to the loo and noticed I had lost my plug. All day Tuesday I kept loosing my plug and had early night because felt really tired. At 10:30pm I woke up with tummy cramps, went for a drink and tried to get back to sleep. At midnight I woke up again with stronger cramps and couldn't do back to sleep so started to track them and they were coming every 4 mins. By 6am they were 3 mins apart and after 3 showers I decided to phone the hosptial and see if I could come in and they said Yeh. On the way I stopped for a McDonald's drive through breakfast haha I was starving. Got there and was 5cms so they admitted me to labour ward. They checked me every three hours for dilation and I wasn't progressing after 6 hours so they broke my waters. I had gas and air only and wanted a water birth but the tubs where in use so tried to just keep active. Finally I had her at 00:24am on the Thursday morning. She was 9lbs and such a fatty. I tore bad and needed a blood transfusion and fluids but other wise was fine and can't wait to do it again in may
