month to month???

Question

So if I miss a pill one month but take it perfectly the next month will I be okay to okay unprotected sex? Is the pill essentially a month to month bases?

I feel like the pill is a day to day basis. Because you have to take it within a certain few hours each day and preferably down to the exact minute. It depends on if you are on the combo pills or mini pills. The combo pills usually give you more time. I am on the mini pills and I have an hour on each side of when I normally take it, for it to be effective. However even if I take it 30 mins off from my normal time I usually spot. The combo pill gives more leeway. I wouldn't get too comfortable always or consistently taking it late. Once in a while isn't too bad. If you are nervous about having a pill or two outside of your normal time frame, that's more than an hour or two I would suggest using condoms as back up for a week.
