UTI after having sex?

Question

I just lost my virginity last week to this guy I've been in love with for the past three years, we just made it official 6 months ago so we had sex for the first time...

What I'm really curious about is this burning sensation during urination? It burned for about three days and stopped for a while, Then the burning sensation came back.

I sat on Web MD for a while, stressing out about everything I found and it basically said that it could be a UTI or a mistakened UTI that's actually an STI. And if it's an STI/STD I can't have kids or I'll basically have pregnancy problems. I'm seriously FREAKING OUT right now!!! I have no idea if it's a UTI or something more serious! Someone give me advice as soon as possible! I'm extremely confused and in great need of some reassurance.

go and pee after sex! it kills off the bacteria which will avoid it ending with a UTI, because girrrlll we all know how painful they are it's much easier to just make sure you go for a wee after sex rather then 3 weeks of antibiotics and that stinging!

This definitely sounds like a UTI. I had one a few months ago and I literally cried whenever I had to pee. In fact, I had to pee all the time but I only peed a little. I thought it would go away on its own but no. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE THE PAIN! Go to your doctor to get that checked. The doctor will make you take a urine test and they will check it to see what's going on. They will give you antibiotics which will help clear the problem. I wish you the best! I've heard that it's safest to be clean before and after sex as to be sanitary.

First of all, see a doctor please!!!!!! If a UTI progresses, it can become a kidney infection which can cause permanent damage. Please don't wait for it to go away on it's own.

Okay, now that we've discussed the scary part, there are some things you can do to treat urinary problems while you wait to hear back from your doctor:
Cranberry juice
Cranberry supplements (basically little pill capsules with dry cranberry powder in them, can be found at most drugstores)
Drinking lots of water (preferably ice water, as it passes through your system quicker)
Frequent urination

I would almost bet 99% that it's just a UTI. My first UTI ever was right after I had started having sex. I'm not sure why, if it's caused from inflammation or swelling but I had to drink tons of cranberry juice and get an antibiotic from my gynocologist.

UTI's are super common and especially after sex. Always drink heaps of water to help flush out your bladder etc. and always try to pee after sex to reduce the chance of getting one. I get them sometimes and they hurt so bad but they are treatable and antibiotics will clear it away pretty quickly.  BUT, go to the Dr. A simple to urine sample will tell them if is a UTI but you should get tested for STI's anyway, especially with new partners.
