MIL driving me insane
Currently my husband and I are living with her (were also paying rent etc) and are moving out in the next 6 months due to me graduating college and having job opportunities back in my hometown where our support system has been. At the beginning of my pregnancy she was excited, then the 2nd trimester to most of the 3rd trimester she didn't believe that my baby was my husbands for the God only knows what reason (she's kinda out there) She distanced herself from me, would barely associate herself with me etc. When we found out the gender she still did the same. She sort of apologized to me and I tried my best to forgive her... but she now wants this strong relationship with my child that she keeps saying is "hers." All I have felt from her for the longest time was negativity... she was never the best mother to my husband when she had him, she dumped him off on so many other people and now has this pride about my child. I'm due January 8th, but baby could come any day now so we've been nesting and now she's trying to tell my husband and I how to do things like how to wash my baby's clothes, where baby needs to be set up at in the bedroom, how we need to get rid of a lot of stuff so baby has enough room (which is weird because I'm an art student and until I'm finished I don't see the point in getting rid of my materials.) I'm just so annoyed. Like she wasn't supportive during most of my pregnancy and now she feels the need to put her 2 cents in... like stop telling me what to do because this is MY BABY! If I was asking for help that's one thing, but I haven't. It's been my family who has helped get our baby supplies and whatever else we needed. She will also constantly nag my husband about how she doesn't like me, which is fine I guess, but how do you expect to have a strong relationship with my child if you don't have a strong relationship with me... I'm just ready to move and don't think I can be here much longer. Kind words and suggestions would be appreciated this was more of an outlet for me to vent.
