fifths disease?

Last week a friend stopped by with her child. Maybe 15 minutes tops. Today, the child was diagnosed with fifths disease. I know it can be bad for pregnant women, but how bad? Worth mentioning to the doctor?

Don't Google it because Dr. Google will tell you your baby is going to die. My son contracted fifths while I was pregnant and I was freaking out over what I was reading online.  I saw my Dr a few days later and I was in tears and he kind of laughed and told me it's no big deal. He said very early pregnancy it can cause anemia in the fetus in a small percentage of women IF i contracted a full blown case of the illness (which i didnt). He said my iron count is good and I was in my second trimester so it's fine. Also If you had fifths as a child then you won't contract it again.   But you could definitely mention it to your dr.
