autoimmune disease and pregnancy

Kari
I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis about 3 months after my first baby was born. Worst pain ever. Thankfully meds has kept it manageable for about 6 years. Niw pregnant - 33ish weeks - and it's in remission. All my doctors told me pregnancy would put this painful disease in remission. So grateful and have not had to take any meds for the entire pregnancy. But on the downside, my doctors told me to be ready for a major and intense flare after delivery. I'm terrified. With my first baby, it was so bad that I could not take care of my newborn. Couldn't hold, couldn't feed him, couldn't even walk. I missed out on that newborn and Mom bond. I'm just so scared and worried. Anyone else have an autoimmune disease and preparing for the post partum flare?
