Question

I want to start my dreads I'm 5wks I've been wanting to do it for a while should I wait till baby is born or start now?  I'm scared the changes I may have in my hair will ruin the outcome of my dreads I've been natural for 2yrs and completely restarted growing my hair its now shoulder length , when did you start ? Post pregnancy or during? How did yours come out ? Picture please

I started post pregnancy. YouTube the crochet hook method to get them proper quicker. Especially if you don't have coarse hair or natural kinks. I used doctor bronners soap to wash them weekly and coconut oil to smooth occasionally. Just as mine matured I cut them and eventually combed them out with a fork. 😂 I just couldn't make that commitment. I'll add photos if I can't find any!

With my first, my hair didn't grow at all. Now that I'm pregnant with my second my regrowth is just ridiculous. Every pregnancy is different. If you're worried about your hair growing too fast, I'd wait till after baby :) I've heard hair gets really short when doing dreads so the longer the hair the better it looks apparently lol

I've had my locs for a couple years. They haven't change me much other than getting longer faster and I'm 35 weeks pregnant. I say go for it. I barely take care of my hair other than conditioning it and making sure it doesn't fall of my scalp. I MAY get then touched up every 3 or 4 months. I am super happy with my decision to get them. I say GO FOR IT🤣

I'm 29 weeks and there honestly weren't many changes with my hair. I take prenatals regularly but it really hasn't grown all that much. The only thing that's changed is I no longer want to take care of it. I'm not really sure how often you have to wash dreads but it may be perfect for pregnancy!
