Does your baby have a milk allergy and you continue to breastfeed?

My son is not fond of formula and the doctor thinks he has a milk allergy. Is it possible to continue breastfeeding or should I switch soley to Alimentum? Or should I use the formula just during my transition to a dairy free diet?

I would cut out the dairy now, but continue to breast feed unless your breast milk is having a really terrible effect on him. Dairy protein can apparently take 10-21 days to get fully out of your system. From what I've read, babies who respond negatively to dairy commonly have trouble with soy as well. 
I'm working on the same thing. Just cut the dairy out a couple days ago, and he already seems to be less gassy (hopefully not just a coincidence). Did your doctor give any advice?

You can breastfed. Usually the issue is the cow milk proteins.
