Are you for or against sex selection?

I just heard about this and I'm not sure what to think. On one level, if you really want a girl or a boy, that should be your right. On the other, it smacks of the results of China's population control policies, which led to a BIG gender imbalance and the aborting of many girls because... they were girls!

If you don't want a baby because if it's sex then you're not ready to be a parent. You should love your children regardless of who or what they are. I must admit that I would prefer to have only boys but if I fell pregnant with a girl I would never abort because of it.

I wouldn't really want a boy but I wouldn't go messing with what genes they get in order to get what I want. Next it could be like 'design your own baby' "yes I want my baby to have dark hair, green eyes, olive skin, tall but not too tall! Erm be good at sports, intelligent" you start choosing one gene then you can start choosing them all...

In the case of a known genetic defect that could only be passed on to a baby if a certain gender then yes I am for it

I said yes because I'm not 100% against it, however I probably wouldn't do it as i don't believe in fighting fate (in this particular situation at aleast). Who's knows though, I may eventually change my mind when I'm ready to have kids.
