Engagement ring as a present. To those who got proposed to on a bday, Xmas, Valentine's Day ect. Was the ring your only present you received? Or a bonus to usual occasion gifts? To those who haven't been in the situation: what would you want?

I was not propose to have a holiday, but I really feel like I need to put my two cents in here… If you receive an engagement ring on a holiday, that is a very expensive gift and why would you expect anything else?

I wouldn't mind if he proses on a holiday and it was my only gift but he will not propose on a holiday he feels it should have its own day

I sort of had another gift. My hubby took me to Mexico for my birthday gift, and proposed while there ☺

I wouldn't have minded if he proposed on a holiday but would have liked another gift too. My husband however told me there was no way he would propose on a holiday as he wanted the day he proposed to be special just for that reason alone.

My husband proposed on Valentine's days and that was the only "gift" but we went out to dinner, which is where he did it. I didn't mind one bit (:

If it was on Valentine's Day or my Birthday I wouldn't expect anything else, maybe a romantic dinner but I wouldn't normally expect anything aside from a nice dinner on those occasions anyway.  If it was Christmas I would expect a stocking and at least one other unrelated gift. My husband proposed on Christmas but it was midday after all the presents had been opened. I wasn't expecting it at all.

He arranged a surprise birthday party and got me flowers.  He didn't actually intend to propose that day too, but the opportunity was there so he took it.  So not a present present, but party/flowers + ring.

I got proposed to just before Christmas but he told me the ring was my main present, on top of that he bought me a gown and some perfume
