At 40 weeks and 4 days, I was miserable

At 40 weeks and 4 days, I was miserable. My second baby, a baby girl, was originally due 12/26. Throughout my pregnancy I was not too active, just 20 min of walking a day. We moved in the middle, around my 5th month, so I did plenty of cleaning, painting, moving, organizing, etc. I did start drinking red raspberry leaf tea at 30 weeks (I think, maybe 32) 1 cup a day, till 36 weeks and I upped it to 2, then 38, 3 to 4 cups a day, and 39, 4 cups and made it strong. I also started evening primrose oil at 36 weeks. Once a day orally, then twice a day at 38 weeks. At 39-40 I started to insert one vaginally per night. I didnt do anything like this with my first pregnancy. My first, my water broke at home, I wad 2cm when I got to the hospital and got an epidural at 6 cm, 7 hours into active labor. Had him midnight totaling 12 hours of labor. Had to get an episotimy, he was 9lbs 13 oz. No complications, no GD. And with this little girl, with all the extra "prep" I did... I had a 4 hour labor. 2 hours at home, amd my contractions just felt like period pains. But once they got to 2 min apart, I decided to go in to,be checked. I had been 1cm and 50 % effaced on 12/29, so I didn't expect much. But they checked me and I was 5cm! My contractions started to get bad. I was involuntarily moaning with each one. I asked for an epidural because I knew it was gonna get bad. But they were tied up with 2 c sections :/ the nurse checked me... I was 8 cm. She said it looked like no medication for me. I quickly progressed to 10 after emptying my bladder and instantly had to push. I had one big contraction I pushed with, and out she came. I. Felt. Everything. I thought, omg I tore. Its horrible. But I didn't, at all. Immediately did skin to skin with my beautiful pink daughter and she latched within 20 minutes and nursed each side. Then had a pee and poo diaper! And slept for 4 hours! This kid is amazing hahaha. She is 9lbs 4oz, no complications. 21.25in long. I had the fastest delivery ever... And although I wish I had an epidural (lol) recovery so far has been great. Way more energy. I was ready to walk outta here 2 hours later. Was it all the tea and oil and tales that made this labor and delivery different?? Who knows. It definitely correlates. But every pregnancy and birth is different !
