Pump and dump???

Question

I plan on drinking tonight. pump and dump or pump and save? Does the alcohol stay in the milk for good once it's pumped or does it work its way out as it sits?

This is an unpopular opinion, but you can breastfeed at any point, even after some drinks. According to research, your blood alcohol level is equivalent to the alcohol level in your breastmilk. The legal limit to drive is .08%. The highest blood alcohol level recorded before death is .91. Still less than 1%, and I doubt you'll be getting to that point tonight! Let's say you get a little tipsy tonight and have 6 beers in 3 hours. If you're about 150 lbs, your blood alcohol level is .15%. That would be the equivalent of adding like, a teaspoon of alcohol into a litre of breastmilk. Practically nonexistant! If you're worried, what you can do is freeze the pumped milk into smaller sections and add additional breastmilk from when you're not drinking to dilute it further.

Pumping and dumping just wastes good milk. There's around 1% of the alcohol you drink in your milk and once its out of your bloodstream its out of your milk even the stuff already produced.

It take one hour for you to get rid of one unit of alcohol. If you time it right you can have one or two. 
If you do pump to dump you could use the milk in baby's bath. Great for the skin.

With alcohol, you do not need to pump & dump. The amount of alcohol in your breastmilk cannot be higher than the amount in your blood. 
For example, if you had a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 (which is the legal limit for driving where I live) then your breastmilk could have up to 0.08% alcohol content. That's less alcohol than what is contained in a glass of orange juice (orange juice naturally contains up to 0.1% alcohol because there is some fermentation of sugars). This amount of alcohol in your breastmilk will not have any harmful effects on your baby, no matter how small your baby is. 
Remember, the percentage of alcohol content in your breastmilk does not equal what your baby's blood-alcohol level would be if they drink your breastmilk. It is far far far less. Just the same way that if you took a shot of 40% alcohol, your blood alcohol content is not equal to the alcohol percentage in your drink.
