kink & 50 shades

i recently watched 50 shades of grey and LOVED it. however, ive heard mixed reviews saying that a lot of people in the BDSM community dont like, saying its a misrepresentation... is that true? just curious :) i would be into trying the stuff in the movie, but im not sure if they missed the ball on what actual BDSM is. any clarification would be awesome!
