what do you dress your newborn in?

We live in PA and today it's supposed to be in the single digits with wind chill. I have to take my son out for a doctor appointment and he's only 5 days old. I have a cozy cover on his car seat that's super warm, but I was just wondering what should be good to dress him in? He's still too small for any winter suits and those are too big for his car seat anyways. Would a long sleeved onesie, sweatpants, socks, mittens, and a hat plus a blanket on him be okay?

I would also turn on the heat in the car for a few min before leaving  so it's pre heated when you bring him out. Stay warm out there!

I have been using fleece sleepers a lot. My little guy loves them. Then I put a receiving blanket over his legs and have a cover for his car seat. It yas been plenty for him.

Dress him how u would dress urself!!!! Warm the car up before getting in it!! He will b ok!

I live in ND and we have below zero weather. I dress my new born in a long sleeve onesie, pants, and socks. I have a cozy cover and I also put a blanket in there as well. I used to put a hat on h but he would be beat red by the time we got any where. He actually is sweaty with just the blanket.
