Anyone taking classes?

I'm a first time mom. I plan to breastfeed. I'm due April 3rd. I can't decide if I should take classes! I feel like I should because even though I'm a nurse I never take care of babies! I know cpr, and so does my husband. But, he hasn't been around babies alot. What kind of classes are you taking and where?

My husband & I are taking a labor & delivery / baby basics class, breastfeeding class & save-a-baby (CPR) class. I have had a few friends tell me the classes are a huge waste of time & money, but I would like to see for myself!! This is our first baby, and honestly, I don't know jack about delivery, taking care of a new born baby, breastfeeding, etc., so I will risk wasting time to help educate myself & help be better prepared (because lord knows it can't hurt at this point 😂). Also, I think we will be paying under $100 for all of these at our hospital, so it's not like it's crazy expensive! I have started to get a little irritated when people I know say "you don't need to take any of the classes. They are a waste!" Obviously they offer them for a reason... 😑

I'm taking a breastfeeding class for $10 and having the hospital birth teacher come to our house for a private class for $60. Were first aid/cpr certified through a local foster agency so we can babysit foster kids. I think I don't need the baby basics class Bc I've been around a lot of newborns and I have a lot of friends with babies that live close; like next door.

You can find lots of free classes...if you have time, why not?

I work in healthcare and this is my husbands second child but we are still taking classes for the necessities. We are doing a 1 day childbirth class, infant care, infant safety and cpr, and breastfeeding. It can never hurt to brush up on skills or gain as much information as possible. Our childbirth class also includes a tour of the hospital and I really wanted to do the breastfeeding to ensure I'm successful.

My hospital offers a few classes. I'm taking a newborn class and a childbirth education class  with my hospital and a breastfeeding class through wic.

I'm contemplating on breastfeeding class too. My hospital charges $25/couple or there's a longer class for $175. A lot of people told me to not even take the class, the lactation consultant does a good job. Definitely doing a hospital tour though, that's free obviously.
