Do you think separation of church and state actually exists?

Not really. We're only human and our biases will always manage to creep in. There are many Christians in the House and Senate so of course their religious beliefs are going to influence the way they vote and what they support, rightly or wrongly. I'm not singling out Christianity, but it's the most common religion in the US.

Ironically, an atheist president would hypothetically do the best job of ensuring the separation of church and state - but many Americans would refuse to vote for an openly atheist president... though that number has decreased in recent years, so hopefully one day we'll have one!

I said no I believe it SHOULD exist but currently I feel as though America is more caught up in religion than it should be. I think the only place religion should be is when teaching children about as MANY as possible in school and making sure people aren't hurt or killed because of their religion.

The French have done quite a good job at separating church and state. Other countries the US have failed miserably. In other countries only certain arms of the state seem to be effected, for example, state education in Britain.

I'll rather hear a president who have a strong Christian values or belief in God than hearing a president who  doesn't belief in God
