Confused on what he wants

My bf well now ex broke up with me on New Year's eve, as everyone imagines I didn't enter the year quite right. We had been together for more then a year now &' the break up wasn't sudden I felt it coming because we argued a lot. Over stupid things but it blew out of proportion. When it finally happened I didn't know what to do or what to expect next. We see each other everyday and act like we are strangers but when it comes to communicating it seems like everything is fine with us. We talked about us and he said he needed time to think what he wanted because he was unsure. It has only been 6 days but I really miss him and I'm willing to wait for him to settle everything with himself. There's a lot more to the story but this is just something I wanted to share. I know he's having a tough time In knowing what he wants and who he really is. I just don't know what to do with myself at times because I think we broke up because of my fault and it was just me the cause of all this. I love him but idk how to let him go when he's there in every part in my life.
