best birth control?

Hi! Later today I'm going to PP to get my first ever birth control!!! Im leaning towards the pills, (specifically combination over progestin) but I'm open to learning about more options!!! I really like the idea of an IUD or the Bar, but I'm worried about the side effects (mostly with the IUD). In November I had to go to the ER because I was bleeding nonstop, I had major blood clots. I was bleeding through a tampon with an overnight pad and then through my clothes. When the doctor took all the clots out, it was like a 2 Liter bottle of blood and clots. Worst thing in my entire life.
