anyone know anything on health insurance??

I need to apply for state benefits, as I am moving out of my parent home. Do they need to completely drop me before I apply? Do I apply before they drop me? What do I do?? Any advice appreciated. My families insurance doesn't cover the maternity care I need, and I need to know within 25 days to apply.
