Returning to college? Can it be done?

Question

I've been wanting to go back to school for a while now. Though I haven't thought it'd be in the stars anytime soon so I don't know what I'd go back for..

Thing is, we can't afford for me to quit my job.  Should I wait it out and save for God knows how long? Do I go for it and find a part time job?

I have a 2 month old as well so Idk how trying to do homework while watching him would be.

Moms who have go back to school, how'd you do it???

My sister is pre med and has a baby. She worked full time and went to school full time and it was rough for her. Then she trie different part time jobs that catered around her schedule and now she works as a waitress and does a food delivery service where she can make her own schedule. It's tough financially, but she knows it will be worth it soon enough.

Go to school online! I go to ECPI university online and will be getting my bachelors degree in business in 2.5 years compared to the usual 4 years it takes at on campus schools. 🙂

I did a semester of student teaching and was the "breadwinner" when my daughter was under 1. I also completed my Masters a few years later working full time. It's hard but you need support and determine!!

It can be done. My sister in law has 3 kids works as a nurse and is in school getting he masters, her youngest is just over 2, she went back to school when she got pregnant with him and has been in school the whole time. She has some help, family that can baby sit and day care, and it is hard but she does it and does well. I also went to school pregnant and had the baby a couple weeks into my last semester. I missed 3.5 weeks but still got a 3.5 GPA as a full time accounting student that semester, I wasn't working though. If you don't have an excellent work ethic then no, don't bother. If you are the kind of student who is fine scraping by with C's or skipping class it's just a waste, you won't make it. But if you are a very hard worker and determined then you can do it.

Yes you can definitely go back!! After high school I took a year off, I went to college and after my second semester I got pregnant. I took time off school to have my son and now I'm back in school. I just finished a semester and now I'm about to take my last one. My son is now almost a year old. Doing homework with a baby is challenging, maybe a relative can come over and help you while you get it done? Also see if your job is willing to work around your school schedule and just go part time. If not, just find a part time job willing to go around your school hours or do online classes. And definitely apply for financial aid to help you pay for classes, books and supplies. It's never too late to go to college. Go to the college you want to go to, apply and then you might have to take a test. The higher the score you get, the less classes you have to take. Then while you're taking your basics, you can figure out what you want to do. Also in my college you can bring your kids if you don't have someone to watch them, hopefully your college gives you that option too. But my grandmother watches my son while I go and do homework. You got this!! I just got my fiancée to go to school. You can do it. It'll be challenging, but worth it! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me!

Go for it if it's what you want to do. My bf has 2 jobs and a son plus he has college so yes it can be done. I think he does mostly online classes but it's definitely doable if you have enough drive to. There's also financial aid most colleges offer and you can always apply for fasfa too which helps find grants to help pay for college it's based on income though
