pacifier tips and suggestions

My three month old won't take a pacifier. I would prefer my baby to suck on a pacifier rather than his thumb. I heard it's a harder habit to break if he thumb sucks and it'll lead to crooked teeth. He just sucks his thumb to the point it's all wrinkly and dry. He used to take one when we would go on long rides but has stopped. He is EBF. Is there any tips tricks to get him to take one?
