relationship troubles

So yesterday I dyed my hair pink. My boyfriend didn't like it he said "it's a sin" you're messing with the temple god gave you" "i can't look at you till you die it back black" blah blah blah blah he's Christian and I'm baptist so I dyed it back black because I love him but I miss it now everything is back to normal. Did I make the wrong mistake? If so what should I have done differently? He pretty much controls everything I do is that okay for me to allow that?
