Hair blowdrying and styling tips???

I'm really trying to figure out what to do with my hair. The last couple months i havn't been brushing my hair often cuz it gets all poofy and frizzy so ive just been leaving it messy and curly.

I just got a blowdryer with a nozzle thingy and a round hair brush, I dont think I achieved anything though. Any tips on anything? Anything would help.
