unmediated birth with induction?

Question

I've been really wanting to do an unmediate birth. But I'm pretty surE I'm going to have to be induced not pos cause I can always say no and chance it but . We live hr and half from hospital and everyone from this area has been enduced cause doctors worry that they won't make it to hosp in time. Or that something will go wrong and they'll be to far away. 
If I do choose to be induced should I just go ahead with medicine to help with the pain or try hold out and see if I can handle the intense of the induction. Idk I'm a FTM and it all scares me. But I do know that they say with induction the pain and intensity is way worse than 100% natural birth. I'm just really scared. I know our bodies know what to do but this whole process I'm scared of.

It's all different for everyone my first water broke naturally and I needed epidural for pain, my second I induced for same reason you describe and I didn't feel I needed a pain killer at all and it was 10x faster birth and went way more smooth! Don't focus on others stories though because every woman and every labor is different! Be ready to change plans if needed but if you wanted Med free I don't think induction necessarily will prevent you! Good luck

I've heard that labor is a lot more painful when being induced. However, I also live over an hour from the closest hospital with L&D and have no plans to be induced nor has my midwife mentioned it.  I really think induction for convenience is a bad idea but that's my opinion, ultimately do what's best for you!

I was just having this discussion with a mom who had been induced. She was med free for 35hrs or something crazy and basically couldn't take it any more. For her it was the length of time, not just the contractions themselves. I don't know that they really let you go that long any more though, she had her kids a few years ago.
